Honoring a Legacy
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Anthony “Paul” Kraintz, co-founder of Meals on Wheels Contra Costa, Inc.
Born and raised in Martinez, California, Paul dedicated his life to serving the community. With a background in accounting, Paul spent over four decades with the Contra Costa County Public Health Department, including 37 years as the Senior Nutrition Program Health Services Administrator.
In 1990, Paul co-founded Meals on Wheels alongside Bob Sessler to bridge a critical funding gap for homebound seniors in need of meals, work that continues to touch thousands of lives. His compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of older adults left an indelible mark on our community.
Paul was an extraordinary person whose legacy will live on through the lives he helped nourish and support.
He will be profoundly missed.
