Driving out hunger one swing at a time
For those unfamiliar with larger fundraising events, the point is not only to raise money; it’s an opportunity for the community to get out for a good time, potentially win some prizes, and support an organization with a long history of helping Contra Costa seniors.
What’s a better way to do that than a golf tournament?! This community-focused event promises a good time for everyone who wants to participate. Meals on Wheels of Contra Costa is making this as skill-inclusive as possible, so you don’t have to be a pro golfer. You can just come out, do your best, and win some cool prizes.
While our 2024 tournament was our inaugural event, planning it ourselves, this actually isn’t a new event! The San Joaquin Yacht Club in Bethel Island had been hosting this event for thirty-five years. It’s a beloved community event that’s being taken to the next level.

But at its core, people are driven to join because they care about the seniors in their community. Everyone who comes out for the event is helping to fill a gap in funding that will ensure each senior in the community gets regular and nutritionally balanced meals.

How to Join the Golf Tournament – Sponsorship Opportunities
Meals on Wheels of Contra Costa’s golf tournament isn’t just open to individuals! Any and all local businesses are encouraged to sponsor as well!
A golf tournament can be a wonderful way to congratulate employees on their great work or invite other business partners or vendors for a good time. It can also be a great way to hold a work meeting while also getting some exercise! No matter who plays, the business gains a day for fun and helps support a great cause.
There are many sponsorship opportunities, all of which include perks for the sponsoring business. Each level includes:
- A set number of entries to the tournament
- The business name and logo on our website and social media channels
- Event-wide advertisements and accolades throughout the course
- Live event recognition during the Awards Dinner

Venue Details
Our event will be held at Shadow Lakes, a beautiful golf course with 18 holes, one of the premier community meccas for the Brentwood area. It offers many features to pros and amateurs alike, including an immaculately groomed course, new golf carts, and expert staff.
Shadow Lakes also has an event center surrounded by lovely neighborhoods where many weddings and other events happen. It’s also frequently used for holiday parties and other events, so the area is well-known by locals. It’s a highly recognizable venue that stands as a symbol to the community!

The tournament is organized to support Meals on Wheels Contra Costa and aligns with our mission to support homebound seniors.

Registration for 2025 is not open yet. Please call 866-669-6697 or email events@mowcontracosta.org to be notified when registration is open.
What is the format of the golf tournament?
The format is a four-person scramble.
Is there a schedule for the tournament?
The schedule for the 2025 tournament will be posted closer to the event date, ensuring another fun-filled experience.
What are the Sponsorship opportunities for businesses?
There are six significant sponsorship opportunities, each with a different level of entries and signage throughout the event.
What does the Diamond Sponsor receive?
The Diamond sponsorship costs $8,000, and the business will receive:
- 16 entries to Golf Tournament & Awards Dinner
- Name/Logo on our website & social media channels.
- Event-wide sponsor advertisement including logo on 2024 signage as well as a 37×57 banner & 11×17 tee sign on golf course and presented during awards dinner.

The Platinum sponsorship costs $5,000, and the business will receive:
